How The World Has Shifted

I’ve seen this presentation in various forms, a Sony conference and here from Slideshare. Take 5 minutes to look at it and then take a long time to think about the consequences… [Note: I prefer to manually skip through presentations, but it depends how fast you read]

At this rate it is more important to be capable of adapting quickly than learning quickly.

Much of the stuff we are learning today will be obsolete pretty soon so better concentrate in becoming adaptable than knowledgeable.

@Denise - Yes, there's no turning back to the days, perhaps, a lot of us are more comfortable with. Birthday is today, 9th, thanks! More grey hairs....

@Mark - Very true, it's amazing how many things novels and even TV shows like the original and newer Star Trek, and even Back To The Future Part II guessed would be coming. Of course flying skateboards are still a way off...

Hi Joel,

Very sobering presentation.

The stuff I'm learning and implementing in my blog today would read like an impossible science fiction novel in 1960.

The speed of change will continue to accelerate. That is why it is so imprtant to embrace what is happening rather than reject!!
